Overview
The Gold Coast Marathon takes place the first weekend in July along the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
The world class international marathon includes eight races including the Gold Coast Marathon, CPL Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Southern Cross University 10km Run, CPL Wheelchair 10km, Gold Coast Airport 5km Fun Run, Health and Wellbeing Queensland 4km Junior Dash and Health and Wellbeing Queensland 2km Junior Dash. It is one of the most prestigious marathons in the world.
The course is flat, fast and extremely scenic. It takes place alongside the city’s renowned surf beaches with ideal winter running conditions featuring low humidity, little wind and mild temperatures. For more information click here.
Itinerary
Day 1 Thursday July 4
Arrival - pick up Brisbane or Gold Coast airport and transfer to Gold
Coast beachside accommodation.
Join us for a private welcome get together, including a short history
of the area enjoying and an orientation to the Marathon course and events.
Private tour of the local area and sights.
Special 3 course welcome lunch or dinner with local wines and seafood.
Day 2 Friday July 5
Springbrook National Park walking and waterfalls sightseeing day
Gourmet breakfast at your leisure. Lunch and snacks included.
Visit Marathon start and village, and pick up bibs and race
packets.
Free time for evening dinner, bookings and options provided.
Optional - sunset kayak and beach side dinner.
Day 3 Saturday July 6
Race Day - Half- Marathon and 5k fun run
Breakfast and transfer to start
For those not running morning wildlife walk and picnic breakfast.
Afternoon to relax, swim in our pool or private stretch/yoga
class (tbd).
Join us for the event held by the Marathon organizers.
Free time for evening pre race dinner, bookings and options provided.
Day 4 Sunday July 7
Race Day Full Marathon
Breakfast and transfer to start
For those not running morning wildlife walk and picnic breakfast.
Day 5 Monday July 8
Breakfast
Private post race yoga or stretch class.
We enjoy some walking through the Tamborine Mountain area of the Gold
Coast Hinterland with 3 wineries for tasting and snacks.
This fun walk is followed by a late lunch.
Dinner - a light beachside picnic near our accommodation
Day 6 Tuesday July 9

Private transport to airport for departure, or option
to continue on with us to Sydney, Cairns or Melbourne

Day 1 Monday July 1
Arrive in Brisbane and enjoy some self exploring with the notes and recommendations we provide to be as active and adventurous as you wish or take it easy close to your accommodation after a big flight.
Day 2 Tuesday July 2
At around 10am enjoy Brisbane by taking a leisurely river cruise to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to observe native Australian wildlife. This half-day tour departs from bustling Southbank and cruises along the Brisbane River with views of iconic landmarks on the way to Lone Pine.
Upon arrival, enjoy ample time to meet the animals. Observe the platypus, and watch animal shows that feature sheepdogs and birds of prey. A great experience for animal lovers. River cruise from Southbank, Brisbane to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary Explore Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the world's first and largest koala sanctuary Glimpse the elusive platypus that live at the Platypus House Keep an eye out for the wild lorikeets (Australian parrot) that come to feed at Lone Pine. This experience is around 5 and half hours and you are free to explore outside this included activity for the day.
Day 3 Wednesday July 3
Get acquainted with Brisbane’s top attractions and landmarks on a 3-hour walking tour with a knowledgeable local guide. Stroll through the city’s streets, parks and laneways to see landmarks such as City Hall and its iconic clock tower, King George Square, the City Botanic Gardens, and the Cathedral of St Stephen — the oldest church in Queensland. Stop by Eagle Street Pier and view Story Bridge, which spans the Brisbane River near the CBD. Your guide shares stories about the history of Brisbane, the perfect introduction to this dynamic Australian city. Snap photos of iconic sites such as the City Hall clock tower and Story Bridge Hear about the founding of Queensland’s oldest church, the Cathedral of St Stephen Learn about the city’s history and modern day attractions Enjoy a small-group tour with an informative guide
This is a morning experience from 9.30 and leaves you free to enjoy the afternoon and evening using our recommendations and more experience suggestions that are possible - included an extra day for the highly recommended full day Cruise to Moreton Bay Marine Park and Moreton Island with Dolphin feeding and wreck snorkeling.

Arrive into Melbourne from the Gold Coast.

Day 2 Wednesday July 10
A day to use our recommendations to enjoy your own walking tour of the
city and its sites or grab one of the bikes and enjoy the Melbourne loop
trail and take in riverside bike paths, great market and garden views
from the car free lanes you enjoy and cruise around the MCG and sports
district talking it all in by bike.
Day 3 Thursday July 11
Departure day and you are free leave anytime or enjoy a final days
experience with our recommendations - a day trip along the Great Ocean
Road or a winery tour through the Yarra Valley are great ideas if you
have time and are still keen to see more this amazing city and its
nearby area offers
