Panama City International Marathon & Half Marathon
The Panama City International Marathon is featured in Sportfilm's movie, "Marathons of the World," as one of the 26 top marathons in the world. It's also the world's 157th longest running marathon, and Central and South America's oldest marathon.
Panama has attractions similar to Costa Rica--rainforests, volcanoes, and snorkeling. Panama City is the only metropolis that has a rainforest within the city limits, and hikers at the summit of Volcan Baru can often see both oceans at the same time on a clear day. Panama was chosen by Frommer's as one of the "12 surprising, thriving, or emerging travel destinations" as stated by Kelly Regan, editorial director of Frommer's.
